Well, the tour’s well underway; almost over, in fact. The reception has been fantastic; as has the band. With a few oldies back in the set, it’s certainly sounds like the lads are finishing off a glorious year in fine style.
Meanwhile, things are about to go crazy for Martin Rebelski, who releases his first album early next year on Heavenly. There’s a limited edition 7″ on sale at the merchandise counter on the tour. We haven’t had a chance to hear it yet, but apparently it’s proper good. It features two album tracks, ‘Scarecrow’ and ‘Dad’s Hi-Fi’.
Doves feature twice in Q magazine’s Albums of the Year, once nominated by themselves, and once by Ryan Adams.
And, as promised, I’ve dug out the mails that were sent out to promote the bands various singles and albums. Enjoy.
On a related note, Rick Myers is this month’s cover and Centrefold designer (it’s not as smutty as it sounds!) in Creative Review.
