For the second time, Doves have had an album nominated for the Mercury Music Prize; and this time their joint favourites along with The Streets. William Hill are giving odds of 4/1. The result will be announced on 17 September; the night the band play Philadelphia.

Well, ‘Pounding’ made it to number 21, which isn’t all that we at Broadcast Heights had hoped for; but is actually pretty good for a post-album single. So congrats to the band and a big up to all of you who bought the single.

This was posted on the Heavenly site yesterday:
“Doves follow up the single release of ‘Pounding (out this week, check the Four Tet remix of ‘M62 Song’ - the guy’s a genius) with a third single from ‘The Last Broadcast’. ‘Caught By The River’ will be released in the UK in the autumn when the band will return to these shores for an extensive tour…”
It then went on to talk about the upcoming British festival dates.
